At Eastern Ridge, adventures abound as children experience summer the way it was meant to be: fun, active, and outside.
There will be planting, tending, and harvesting from our big garden (followed by cooking and eating of course!). There will be observing, tracking, and researching the creatures that call our school home. And there will be climbing, art projects, and a hearty dose of water, sand, and mud play to keep our active campers cool and content.
Schedule
In 2026, we are offering nine weekly programs, from June 15 through August 14. Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, Monday-Friday with the exception of July 3.
Our extended day program covers a 4 p.m. and a 5 p.m. pick-up option, but please note availability is limited and not guaranteed.
Programs
Acorn Summertime (ages 2 to 3)
Acorns can attend two days (Th-F), three days (M-W), or five days (M-F).
Acorn campers new to The Ridge must register for a minimum of three weeks to ensure they have ample time to transition into the group and fully benefit from our program. We strongly recommend the five-day option for optimal adjustment.
Early Childhood and K-1 Adventures and Explorations (ages 3.5 to 6.5)
Our older adventurers are split into two groups, Chipmunks and Sassafras, based on age and development.
For children new to The Ridge, we strongly recommend registering for at least two weeks to allow your child to form new friendships and become immersed in our program.
Enrollment
Applications for Summer 2026 are now being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. As of May 12, 2026, our Acorn Summer Camp program is FULL, and we have just a small handful of spots remaining in our Early Childhood groups. Please call 703-757-7900 or email admissions@nature-preschool.org (write summer camp in the subject line) to check for availability before attempting to register. Tell us your child’s age and the weeks you are interested in attending, and we will let you know if we have a spot.
We must have your registration form AND deposit in order to consider your registration “received.” No emailed forms will be accepted. Please hand deliver or send via USPS.
